Voters want their voices heard and that is evident in early voting numbers at the Marshall County Clerk’s Office.
Clerk Deb VanDeMark updated the Marshall County Election Board members Wednesday morning about early voting. As of Wednesday morning, 2,478 mail-in absentee ballot requests were mailed to voters which is the most ever mailed this early in the process in a General Election. The last Presidential General Election in Marshall County saw about 800 total mail-in ballots recorded in 2016.
VanDeMark commented that voters are showing up at the Clerk’s Office to vote early in-person. There were about 260 walk-in voters on Tuesday, October 6 which was the first day to vote absentee in-person in the Clerk’s Office. She said that was a record number of early voters on the first day to vote early in person.
Voters can vote early in-person at the Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday, October 30. In-person voting is also available on Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, October 31 at The Pines in Bremen, the Culver Community Schools Administration Building and the Marshall County Clerk’s Office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The last opportunity to vote early in person is Monday, November 2 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Clerk’s Office.
