Those planning to attend college next fall can get free online help with the financial aid process tomorrow. Indiana is hosting its first-ever completely virtual College Goal Sunday event. Volunteers will be available to guide students and their parents through the process of filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education says that filling out the FAFSA is required to qualify for many state scholarships and grants, as well as many colleges’ scholarships. The FAFSA needs to be completed by April 15, 2021 to qualify for state aid for next school year.
Tomorrow’s College Goal Sunday event starts at 2:00 p.m. EDT at CollegeGoalSunday.org. Families are asked to have their completed 2019 tax returns, W-2 Forms, and other income and benefits information with them. Students and parents are also encouraged to create U.S. Department of Education FSA IDs online before going.
Students who attend tomorrow’s virtual event will also have the chance to win one of five $1,000 scholarships.
