Bremen Water, Storm Water, and Street Superintendent Alex Mikel told the Bremen Town Council members last week that he will be applying for INDOT’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program.
He said he spoke with the town’s engineers at Jones Petrie and Rafinski and they recommended a different approach with this request for funds.
“We’re going to try some treatment methods as well as doing some mill and fill paving – different options to help the extend the life of some of our other streets that aren’t quite up to mill and fill yet, but extend them a little longer,” said Mikel.
The town will match the grant in the range of $115,000 to $120,000.
More specific information will be released if the town is successful in obtaining the grant.
