The number of COVID-19 cases in Marshall County and in Starke County increased slightly from Monday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
After some adjustments were made from Monday’s report, health officials Tuesday indicated that Marshall County had an increase of three new cases to increase the cumulative total to 966 while Starke County had one new case for a new cumulative total of 228. Pulaski County’s case numbers held steady at 112.
The Indiana Department of Health announced that 758 additional Indiana residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 which brings the state total to 107,229.
Patients are in varying stages of fighting the virus and recovering from the virus.
According to the Regenstrief Institute, 83 percent of individuals in the state have recovered from COVID-19 while 14 percent of those diagnosed with COVID-19 are fighting the virus.
No new deaths were reported locally. Thirty people have died from COVID-19 in the tri-county area. There was an increase of 20 deaths in the state in Tuesday’s report for a total of 3,235 COVID-19 deaths, which makes up about three percent of patients in the state who have died as a result of the virus.
