Marshall County Surpasses 1,000 Total COVID-19 Cases

Several new COVID-19 cases were reported locally, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.

Marshall County saw an increase of 12 cases from Thursday’s report, driving the total COVID-19 case count to 1,008.  Starke County had five new cases for a new cumulative total of 263 and Pulaski County’s total case count was adjusted to reflect 113 total cases there with one new case in Friday’s report. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced that 1,195 additional Indiana residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 to increase the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus to 115,407.  The state also calculated another 18 COVID-19 deaths statewide to bring the total to 3,340.   

Statistics from the Regenstrief Institute indicate that 85 percent of the state’s COVID-19 patients have recovered while 12 percent of patients are actively fighting the virus.
