Marshall County Health Administrator to Apply for Funding for IT Needs

Marshall County Health Administrator Ashley Garcia asked the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning to apply for CARES Act funding for IT needs through the Indiana Department of Health.

“ISDH received approval from the State to award $14.5 million to local health departments statewide,” explained Garcia.  “We were allocated $121,287.33.  We are requesting items and services totaling $121,254.79.  All funds are to be spent exclusively on IT-related needs due to COVID-19.”

She specified that the money will be used to purchase technology needs for the new mobile medical unit approved by the Marshall County Council last week.

Garcia stressed that this funding is separate from the county’s CARES Act funding as it comes strictly from the Indiana Department of Health

The commissioners unanimously approved the request as presented.
