Indiana Surpasses 100,000 COVID-19 Cases

The number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana has now surpassed 100,000. The Indiana State Department of Health reported almost 600 new cases statewide Monday. Locally, Marshall County had four new cases for a total of 931, while the number of cases in Starke County increased by two, bringing the total to 217.

It’s now been a month since the local area’s last COVID-19 death. Marshall County’s most recent death was on August 7. Starke County hasn’t had a death since July, and Pulaski County’s only COVID-19 death occurred on June 1. The state as a whole reported four new deaths Monday, for a total of 3,144.

According to the state’s ZIP code breakdowns, the Plymouth area is now up to 591 COVID-19 cases, while the Bremen area has 151. The Knox area has had 114 residents test positive, and the Culver area has had 59.
