Free Meals Offered to Area Students through End of Calendar Year

Area schools are offering free breakfast and lunch to students each school day through the end of the calendar year, or when funds are no longer available.

Free meals are funded by the USDA in response to the COVID-19 health pandemic and health emergency.  Students will return to their regular breakfast and lunch eligibility when the program ends.

Families are not required to be on free and reduced meals to benefit from this initiative.  However, all extra food items outside of the regular meal will have to be purchased at current prices.

Since the start of the public health emergency, the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service has been maximizing existing program services and flexibilities to ensure those in need have access to food through its 15 federal nutrition assistance programs.
