Residents in the Town of Culver are being asked to boil water for the next couple of days due to a break in the water main line.
Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist said the Indiana Department of Environmental Management recommends that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five minutes before using. This practice will be in place for the next few days until town officials cancel the order.
Water samples will be taken on two consecutive days and must meet all drinking water standards before the boil water order is lifted.
Any questions can be directed to Culver Town Hall at 574-842-3140.
All students at the Culver Community School Corporation were released from school at 11:05 a.m. ET due to the water issue. The Culver-Union Township Public Library announced it is closing Thursday, September 24 and will reopen on Friday, September 25 at 10 a.m. ET.
