The water meter installation process in Bourbon is going smoothly, according to Water Superintendent Steve Stacy.
He told the Bourbon Town Council members last week that well over 200 meters have been installed by Neco company officials and town employees to date. Town employees have installed 40 meters inside homes and changed out 11 newer meters. Stacy is waiting to hear from 19 homeowners to schedule a time for replacement.
Neco company officials started the process the week of July 27 and it may take a few more weeks to complete.
For the homeowners who aren’t home during the day for the change to be made, an after-hours appointment may be made to complete the process.
Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger will undergo training on the new billing system and additional features with the program.
