A powerful storm that hit Northern Indiana Monday night continues to affect residents the next day.
Several residents remain without power as electric crews work to restore power in affected areas. More than 44,000 NIPSCO customers are without power.
Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist notified residents on Tuesday that over 400 Culver residents remain without power which could last several days. He asks for patience as efforts continue.
As of noon on Tuesday, Aug. 11, Argos had 63 customers without power, Bourbon had 52, Bremen had 59, Culver had 419, Francesville had 1, Grovertown had 8, Hamlet had 1, Knox had 20, La Crosse had 1, La Porte had 291, Medaryville had 33, Monterey had 3, North Judson had 41, Plymouth had 141, San Pierre had 1, Star City had 4, Union Mills had 44, Walkerton had 191, and Winamac had 3.
