Construction on the parking lot at the Dr. Susan Bardwell Aquatic Center is nearly complete.
The construction was delayed due to timing of future projects expected to occur. According to the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation, the area is located next to a smaller lot that was developed to accommodate handicap spaces and about 11 parking spaces as required by the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals.
Crews from Walsh and Kelly are working on the project that is expected to be complete this week.
Majority Builders installed lighting for the area for lighting in the parking area as well as an electronic community billboard sponsored by the St. Joseph Health System. The message board is expected to be constructed in the area that will promote swim events, community events in the City of Plymouth, county-wide emergency information, and events planned in surrounding communities in Marshall County.
This original message board will be visible from U.S. 30 and connected to an additional board on U.S. 31 slated for the future. They will also be linked to message boards located in the communities of Argos, Bourbon, Bremen, Culver, and Plymouth at the REES Theater.
