The John Glenn School Board members reviewed several personnel changes for the upcoming school year which included the resignation of a school board member to assume a position at the school corporation.
Jeff Johnson, who has served on the school board for several years, decided to step down and accept a floating maintenance team position. Superintendent Christopher Winchell said he’s already been working on several projects in the corporation.
Additionally, the board also considered former High School Principal William Morton for the Prep for College and Careers position at the corporation, according to Winchell.
“I do want to note that that is not a full-year position,” explained Winchell. “That’s going to be a 135-day contract for Mr. Morton. It will include a semester of teaching, and then time assisting the guidance department in master scheduling, and also counseling with students.”
The board members approved the personnel changes as presented with a unanimous vote. Johnson’s school board seat will be filled with another member in the coming weeks.
