Bourbon Town Marshal Bill Martin asked the Bourbon Town Council members last week to consider raising the pay for part-time officers.
He stated that the part-time officers for the Bourbon Police Department are the lowest paid part-time officers in the county.
Bourbon Town Council President Ward Byers suggested making the pay increase a topic of discussion during budget meetings for 2021. A subsequent salary ordinance amendment would need to be considered, if an increase is favorable.
Martin agreed to discuss it further during the budget meetings.
