The positive COVID-19 case counts in Marshall County and Starke County increased only slightly in Monday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health.
The case numbers in both counties increased by four. Marshall County is now up to 663 cases while Starke County reported 138 cases. Pulaski County’s positive COVID-19 case count remains at 68.
According to the Regenstrief Institute, more residents in the 40-49 and 60-69 age groups are testing positive for the virus in Marshall County. No ICU admissions were reported, but several patients have been to the hospital to be treated and some have been admitted for further observation and treatment.
In Starke County, more residents in the 20-29 and 50-59 age groups are testing positive for COVID-19. No ICU admissions were reported, and not as many patients have been admitted to the hospital or had hospital visits regarding symptoms.
The Regenstrief Institute’s information indicates that positive COVID-19 cases in all age groups in Pulaski County are on a decreasing trend. However, the 20-29 age group presents the highest percentage of positive cases at 26.5 percent.
The state saw an increase of 658 new cases of COVID-19 with three new deaths in the state.
More and more people are being tested for COVID-19 who may or may not have symptoms of the virus. Two testing sites will open again this week at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church and at the Knox High School. The sites will be open on Tuesday, July 21 through Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. Any Indiana resident over the age of 12 is welcome to be tested.
