The health pandemic put a damper on a lot of programs and activities which included programs for Marshall County Community Corrections clients.
Marshall County Community Corrections Director Ward Byers told the Advisory Board members last week that the MRT, Smart Recovery and Prime for Life programs are back in session to get offenders the help they need.
Byers said COVID-19 also affected the number of clients monitored by Community Corrections. There were some offenders who were released with time served while the courts were closed, but the number has rebounded back up to 106. He noted that 86 are on electronic monitoring, 14 are on pre-trial monitoring and the rest on daily reporting.
Those offenders continue to have random drug screenings. Byers said methamphetamine and marijuana remain the top drug screen failures.
