Residents over the age of 12 can be tested for COVID-19 for free at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church beginning Wednesday, July 15.
The Indiana State Department of Health is partnering with the Marshall County Health Department to provide this free drive-thru testing clinic for two weeks. The site will be open Wednesday, July 15 through Saturday, July 18, and from Tuesday, July 21 to Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Residents from any Indiana county are welcome to be tested whether or not they are symptomatic. Officials will be asking for a state-issued or city-issued ID.
Marshall County Health Administrator Ashley Garcia said Marshall County was chosen for this pop-up clinic due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the last few weeks. As of Tuesday, July 14, Marshall County had 574 positive COVID-19 cases and 12 people have died as a result of the coronavirus.
Garcia urges everyone to use a face covering when out in public, observe social distancing guidelines, wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer of 60 percent or higher, stay home when possible, and cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and then throw away the tissue. Also, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
