The Pioneer Drive project in Plymouth will begin Monday, Aug. 3 with road closures scheduled.
The purpose of the project is to widen a portion of Pioneer Drive in Plymouth to three lanes to accommodate an increase in truck traffic in that area north of U.S. 30 to 7B Road.
Pioneer Drive from Gary Drive to Commerce Street will be closed beginning Aug. 3 at 7 a.m. so Walsh and Kelly crews can conduct the road improvements. That portion of the road is anticipated to be closed until Sept. 10 for that phase of the project. Toward the end of the first phase, the second phase will begin on Sept. 2 at 7 a.m. which will close Pioneer Drive from Commerce Street to 7B Road. That portion of the road is anticipated to reopen on Sept. 25.
Barricades and signage will be utilized during the closure. Project officials ask that drivers travel in the area with caution.
All reopening dates are subject to the timing in the project schedules and are dependent on the weather.
Detour routes will be posted. 7B Road will be used as a detour route in this project.
