Walsh and Kelly crews continue to work on the North Michigan Road project north of Plymouth and it remains on schedule.
The road remains closed through the entire project with local traffic and emergency vehicles allowed to pass.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters says the milling process has begun and should be done by Thursday, July 30. Binder will be put on the surface on Aug. 3 and should take three days, with a new surface put down starting Aug. 7 and taking five days.
Approaches will be completed beginning Aug. 13 with striping and shoulders following that part of the project.
Peters said the entire project should be done around Aug. 18 or Aug. 19, as long as the weather cooperates.
Peters encourages drivers to avoid the area as much as possible so the work can stay on schedule. If you have to travel in the construction zone, pass slowly by workers and equipment.
