Lane closures will affect traffic on U.S. 30 in the Plymouth area beginning Monday, July 6.
The inside left lanes and shoulders will be closed in both the eastbound and westbound directions through the beginning of August.
INDOT representatives say that a temporary hot mix asphalt crossover will be installed over the grass median in the area. Crews will be excavating soil and existing grass for the project. Stone will be added later to build up the lane followed by the application of asphalt up to grade.
After the crossover is complete, work will begin on an auxiliary lane construction project to help with traffic congestion. More information on the construction progress will be released at a later time.
INDOT urges drivers to stay alert near crews and follow traffic directions carefully. Allow extra time when driving through this area. Slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
