INDOT crews are working in downtown Bremen through mid-September to replace underground water and sewer mains, and install new drainage infrastructure, among other utility work.
This comes ahead of a resurfacing project between Miami Trail and U.S. 6 through Bremen that began on Wednesday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the area with flaggers directing traffic. The project is in line to be complete in mid-September.
The official detour follows State Road 331, U.S. 6 and State Road 106.
The Town of Bremen will also be replacing sidewalks and curbs, and installing new lighting and beautification efforts as part of a downtown revitalization project. That is expected to be done two months after the start of the project. The Bremen Town Council is expected to open bids on Aug. 10.
On top of all of that, another project in the Bremen area is the replacement of a bridge super structure over the Bunch Ditch. That project is expected to be complete by the end of September.
