The local total number of COVID-19 cases has increased in Marshall County and Starke County, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health.
Six new patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Marshall County to bring that total to 418. Starke County’s total case numbers rose by four to a new total of 77 while Pulaski County’s numbers were adjusted to reflect a new total of 62 compared to 63 in Wednesday’s report.
To date, 46,387 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19, an increase of 453 from Wednesday’s information. An additional 13 people have died from COVID-19 to bring that total to 2,469.
Nearly 500,000 tests have been reported to the Indiana State Department of Health. State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box clarified in a press briefing on Wednesday that those tests reflect all tests, which include duplicate tests given to a single resident.
