The Plymouth School Board considered a resolution Tuesday night that concerns negative lunch accounts.
There are several student lunch accounts that have negative lunch balances found in the 2019-2020 school year. Attempts were made to resolve the debt, but those attempts were not successful.
The resolution states that Business Manager Kandi Tinkey has determined that the negative balances total $3,432.38 and that they are to be classified as “bad debt”. She cites Board Policy 8500 as authority for the action.
The document further states that the bad debt shall be reimbursed by non-federal funding sources. If that funding is not available, Tinkey shall transfer funds from the Operations Fund or other state or local funding to reimburse the total amount.
The Plymouth School Board members approved the resolution with a unanimous vote.
