A Plymouth man was arrested Sunday night after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received several phone calls of a man stopped in the roadway on U.S. 31 and passed out at the wheel.
Police arrived at the location near the north county line where 44-year-old Anthony Paul Banks was found inside the vehicle. The officer offered field sobriety testing and Banks was later transported to the hospital where a warrant was granted to conduct chemical testing, according to the report.
Banks was later booked in the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of habitual traffic violator with a lifetime suspension, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15% or higher, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-endangering and possession of marijuana.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
