A Michigan man was arrested on Tuesday, June 16 on several drug possession charges.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, dispatchers received a call asking for a welfare check on a man parked at an intersection in front of the Pilot Gas Station in Plymouth. Police say 58-year-old Harold Messner, of Sumner, Michigan, was found there where he was asked to participate in standard field sobriety testing.
He was later transported to the hospital where the Drug Recognition Expert officer conducted an evaluation.
Messner was later transported to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance, and possession of a narcotic drug, methamphetamine, a schedule I or II controlled substance, marijuana and paraphernalia. He has since bonded out of jail.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
