John Glenn School Board Updated on Proposed Walking Trail in North Liberty

A proposed walking trail in North Liberty adjacent to the North Liberty Elementary School is moving forward.

John Glenn School Superintendent Christopher Winchell reminded the school board members last week that the proposed path would take the trail east from School Trail south beyond the track, it would curve to go south along the school property, cross Center Street (State Road 4) and join Tamarack Trail.  A boardwalk would need to be installed on the land east of the school as the trail would run into some swamp land.

Winchell said the school property would be fenced off to secure the area.

The school board will eventually need to consider an easement for the path as it runs along the property at the North Liberty Elementary School.
