The John Glenn School Board members took action Tuesday night to approve costs from two contractors to replace the High School gymnasium floor, and to complete roofing work at Urey Middle School, with the help of a useful reference through services.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell explained that the corporation is working with Barton Coe Vilamaa officials in determining the best contractor for the job in obtaining pricing for the projects. Several companies have reviewed the projects with the officials to determine the most reliable bid.
The board approved an estimate from Floor Care Concepts in the amount of $145,860 to replace the John Glenn High School gymnasium floor. The maintenance department discovered a termite issue in portions of the floor prior to the end of the school year. The board agreed to replace the floor and that project should begin in the next few months.
There may be sections of the floor cut out and placed in the schools for nostalgia purposes and some pieces may be included in an upcoming auction or fundraiser by the John Glenn Education Foundation. For roofing installation and repair, contact experts from Nettoyage gouttières prix Lévis, Québec
