Administrators at the John Glenn School Corporation are working on developing a plan to open up the school to students this fall.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell said there is a desire to return to an in-person classroom setting this fall. The school year will begin Aug. 11 and school administrators are working to put together a plan that will be released soon.
Winchell did say masks may be worn at some points of the day and group students with adults to slow the spread of COVID-19. He believes that the reopening plans may go in phases in order to keep the kids as safe as possible.
He notes that water bottles will be allowed for students and they could be provided as there will be water bottle filling stations throughout the corporation.
Winchell said buildings will be open on July 1 and teachers may go into their own classrooms and other staff members may return. On July 6, fall sports will be starting with many guidelines for practices. Marching band members will also begin preparing for the marching season.
