The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting in Nappanee where a Lapaz man lost his life.
The Nappanee Police Department was notified of a shooting incident in the Meadows Mobile Home Park just after midnight on Saturday, June 6 where officials say 45-year-old Thomas Campion of Lapaz was found dead at the scene while another person was injured.
An autopsy conducted at the Homer Stryker School of Medicine on the campus of Western Michigan found that Campion died of multiple gunshot wounds. A 29-year-old victim from Nappanee was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released from Elkhart General Hospital.
No arrests have been made at this point as the incident remains under investigation with the Elkhart County Homicide Unit. The Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will have more information as it becomes available.
