The eight available Vote Centers in Marshall County are fully staffed with poll workers for the Primary Election.
The Marshall County Election Board members took action Wednesday to formally approve changes to the Vote Center plan to reflect the change in number of available sites for this election. There are typically 12 Vote Center locations, but with the uncertainty surrounding the health pandemic and safety, plus the difficulty to find poll workers at a few locations, there will only be eight locations for this election.
Voters may cast ballots on Election Day at the United Methodist Church in Argos, Matchett Center in Bourbon, Knights of Columbus in Plymouth, Tyner Community Building, Bremen High School, Culver Administration Building, Marshall County REMC, and Pretty Lake Church Hall in Plymouth.
The Vote Centers will be open on Tuesday, June 2 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Clerk Deb VanDeMark notes that several pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be available at each location to ensure voter and poll worker safety on Election Day. Hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes and gloves will be available for everyone.
MAX 98.3 FM will be live on Tuesday night to present results of the Primary Election. There are two local races that will be looked at closely including the Judge of the Marshall Circuit Court and Marshall County Council At-Large. Incumbent Republican Judge Curtis D. Palmer is being challenged by Republican Janette Surrisi for the seat on the bench.
Seven Republican Marshall County Council At-Large candidates are looking to fill three seats. Incumbents Penny Lukenbill, Jim Masterson and Jon VanVactor are seeking re-election. They face competition from Jesse Bohanan, Bill Githens, Tim Harman, and William Patterson.
