The number of positive COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Marshall County.
In Monday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Marshall County was 227, an increase of 13 from Sunday’s report, which marks another consecutive day of increases. Starke County’s total case count held at 46 while Pulaski County’s total case number remained at 51 on Monday.
The Indiana State Department of Health announced another 244 positive cases from Sunday’s report bringing that total to 37,623. An additional 14 people have died from COVID-19 for a total of 2,135.
According to the state’s coronavirus website, residents between the age of 40 and 49 are seeing the most positive cases, followed by the 50 to 59 age group and then the 30 to 39 age group. The highest percentages of deaths are those who are the age of 80 and older.
Regenstrief Institute officials report that 70 percent of the total number of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered while 25 percent are actively fighting the virus.
The Indiana State Department of Health is hosting a free drive-thru clinic Thursday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Merrillville Municipal Complex at 7820 Broadway.
