The State of Indiana is attempting to make this year’s Primary Election as safe as possible for poll workers.
During Governor Eric Holcomb’s press conference on Friday, Brigadier General Dale Lyles, Adjutant General of the Indiana National Guard, said a partnership with the Secretary of State’s Office has determined how much personal protective equipment is needed at the polling sites to protect workers.
He stated, “Over the course of the next five to ten days, we will be delivering enough PPE for all of the workers at those sites to be protected as they work through the voting process.”
Local Election Board members are making efforts to make sure the voters are safe at the polls as well.
Brigadier General Dale Lyles added that Secretary of State Connie Lawson has a robust plan to ensure that the voters will have appropriate social distance while at the polls so all runs smoothly.
Governor Holcomb mentioned that Lawson may present information on the upcoming election during a press conference next week.
