The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Pulaski County increased by two, according to Wednesday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health. There are now 31 cases reported there.
Starke County remains at 17 positive COVID-19 cases and two deaths while Marshall County’s adjusted number is now 31 after further investigation. Only one COVID-19 death has been reported in Marshall County. La Porte County reported 17 new cases on Wednesday and is now up to 284 positive COVID-19 cases and eight deaths.
Cass County reported 38 new cases in Wednesday’s report which brings the total there to 1,442 as officials investigate an outbreak at a meat processing plant in Logansport.
The state announced 862 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories. To date, 21,870 residents have been known to have the novel coronavirus.
A total of 1,264 Hoosiers have died of COVID-19 which is an increase of 52 from Tuesday’s report. The count of probable deaths remains at 113. A probable death means COVID-19 could have been a contributing factor, but there wasn’t a positive test.
Almost 120,500 tests have been reported to the Indiana State Department of Health which is an increase of 4,662 tests from Tuesday’s count.
