Marshall County COVID-19 Case Count Increases

Marshall County’s count of positive COVID-19 cases continues to increase.

In Tuesday’s updated COVID-19 information provided by the Indiana State Department of Health, Marshall County reported 32 positive cases of the virus.  Only one death has been caused by COVID-19.  The number has increased by four since last Tuesday.

Starke County reported 17 cases, which has stayed steady since Saturday, and Pulaski County reported 29 cases which remains unchanged from Sunday’s report.

Officials from the Indiana State Department of Health stated Tuesday that 541 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 from Monday’s report. A total of 21,033 of Indiana residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 to date.  Another 62 deaths were reported which brought that total to 1,213.  The count of probable deaths remains at 113.  A probable death means a patient could have died from COVID-19 but there wasn’t a positive test.

At the Westville Correctional Facility, the Indiana Department of Correction reported that 157 offenders have tested positive for COVID-19.  Of those, 144 have recovered while 302 remain in isolation and 17 are in quarantine.

Statewide information on COVID-19 recoveries is not available in the report.
