The eLearning process is going well for John Glenn students, according to Superintendent Christopher Winchell’s report to the school board last week. This is the first year for the distance learning option for the school and it will continue Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through May 22.
Winchell noted that the last week of school will include some digitized convocations to engage the students in what would be regular end-of-the-school-year activities.
Winchell stated that food service will continue through the last full week of June.
“We have been providing up to 5,000 meals a week between breakfast, lunch, and Blessings in a Backpack on Friday afternoons,” explained Winchell. “That’s a combination of grab-and-go at the elementary schools and bus deliveries. That continues to be a need and a good resource for our kids and our parents and our community. We worked it out with the team to continue that process through June 26.”
There will be a two-week break following the June 26 date and then food service will resume when Winchell hopes there may be some on-site activities in July. More concrete details will be released when information is released from the Governor’s Office and the Indiana Department of Education.
