The John Glenn School Board members made arrangements for on-campus summer school, but the complete plan has not been finalized.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell explained to the school board that they did approve some Health, Economy, Credit Recovery courses and high school elective classes online, but some staff was put into place for some potential on-campus classes in July.
In July, Winchell hopes that in addition to tentative plans for on-campus summer school, conditioning for fall sports, marching band, and work toward the start of school are also anticipated to begin.
“There are still some unknown, unanswered questions as we look to that July 4 date where the governor is recommending getting back to ‘normal’,” explained Winchell. “So, we’ll continue to monitor that very closely and we’ll continue to plan accordingly. We’ll keep the board apprised.”
According to the Governor’s Back on Track plan, school facilities will remain closed until at least June 30. More information on the upcoming school year is still being discussed by the governor and officials from the Indiana Department of Education.
