Indiana Small Business PPE Marketplace Planning Additional Shipments

Small businesses that missed out on the first round of supplies from the state’s PPE Marketplace may be in luck. Indiana Economic Development Corporation Chief of Staff Luke Bosso says the state’s gotten more than 20,000 requests for PPE, and the first 10,000 orders had been shipped by Friday.

“Through our procurement partnerships, the IEDC has been able to source enough non-medical-grade PPE to be able to ship 12,000 additional orders next week,” Bosso said during state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Friday. “With additional supplies coming in daily, we anticipate we will be able to announce additional shipments.”

To qualify, a business or nonprofit organization must be registered to do business in Indiana, employ fewer than 150 people, be required to use PPE to comply with safety requirements, and fall into the categories of restaurants, retail sales, personal services, or offices. You can also view more about it here! Bosso reiterated Friday that supplies are limited, and businesses should only use the marketplace if they can’t find PPE somewhere else. Businesses can request supplies through the PPE Marketplace at BackOnTrack.in.gov.

Bosso said that overall, the state has secured commitments for more than 16 million pieces of PPE, 12 million have already been delivered to the state, and one million were donated by Indiana businesses.
