The Indiana Department of Education recognized all Indiana teachers as the 2021 Teacher of the Year.
State Superintendent Dr. Jennifer McCormick said Tuesday that teachers across the state stepped up to the challenge in response of COVID-19 and deserve the recognition.
The Teacher of the Year program has existed for more than 60 years that typically recognizes one outstanding classroom teacher in the state. The program’s mission is to inspire, rejuvenate, and celebrate the teaching profession. The traditional process will resume with 2022 selection, but the Department of Education this year recognizes all dedicated educators serving all of the students during these uncertain times.
