A few state parks and recreation areas began collecting entrance fees on Saturday.
Turkey Run, Shades, and Indiana Dunes State Parks were among those collecting entrance fees, along with Deam Lake and Starve Hollow state recreation areas. All other DNR properties will resume charging entrance fees no later than May 15.
Restrooms will open at DNR properties by May 15. Currently, restroom use is restricted.
Nature Centers and historic facilities in the state’s park properties will open the week of May 11 but hours of operation may be reduced with social distancing guidelines in play.
Marinas will also open the week of May 11.
DNR officials ask all guests to keep a social distance at all times while hiking, picnicking and using boat ramps. Group sizes should be fewer than 25 people. If visitors feel ill or have a fever, plan to visit another day for the safety of guests.
