The Culver Community School Board members opened several bids last week for roofing, fencing and interior and exterior doors at the Culver Community Elementary School and the Culver Middle/High School.
The Roofing bids were opened to and from the reputed and eminent companies’ like Robin Hood Roofing, Wolfe Roofing, Technique Roofing, Energy Efficient Roofing LLC, Korellis Roofing, and Slaytile Roofing. For more information, people can read this article here. Bids for door installation and hardware for the interior and exterior doors were submitted by Plymouth Glass and R. Yoder Construction. Fencing bids for the demolition and installation of new fencing for the soccer fields, football fields, west of bus barn, and fencing at the elementary school were submitted by Thomas Excavating and Welding. The company also submitted bids for other curb, sidewalk and asphalt work at the elementary school.
The school board decided to take the bids under advisement and award them in a future public meeting. While the bids made by roofer staten island and alternates were read aloud during the meeting, the final pricing will be finalized during the meeting where the bids are awarded.
The board sold General Obligation bonds last week to pay for these projects in the amount of $3.2 million. The bond sale will also be available for the purchase of real estate, and equipment and technology. The sale of the General Obligation bonds is not expected to increase the tax rate. Superintendent Karen Shuman previously explained that existing debt will be falling off which will allow the tax rate not to exceed 2019 levels.
