Culver Graduates to Have Traditional Ceremony

The graduating seniors at the Culver Community School Corporation will have a traditional graduation ceremony this summer complete with specific guidelines.

Culver Middle School/High School Principal Brett Berndt explained to the Culver Community School Board Monday night that the students will walk across the stage to get their diplomas on Friday, June 19 at 7 p.m. ET in the high school gymnasium.  Each student will get to invite four people to attend.

The graduates, as well as their guests, will be seated at a required six-foot social distance.  Berndt noted that the planning involves the way the students enter and exit the gym before and after the ceremony and how any other presentations are planned throughout the event.  He said it should work out for all involved.

Superintendent Karen Shuman stressed that the plans for graduation were approved by officials at the Marshall County Health Department.

The school board members expressed their gratitude to all involved for making a graduation ceremony possible.  They said it is important to celebrate the students’ achievements and to recognize them on this momentous occasion.
