Residents who live just outside of Bremen who would like to dispose of grass clippings at the town’s disposal site will need to purchase a permit fee to do so.
Residents who live within the corporate limits of Bremen may dump the clippings for free, but it is typically not open to residents outside of the town limits. Members say Lake of the Woods and Donnybrook residents often bring in grass clippings to the disposal site which is not permitted.
Council members are concerned that it is hard to control, but want to be sure that the rules are being followed.
The council members agreed to reinstate the fee. It will cost $100 for Lake of the Woods and Donnybrook residents. The permits will be for grass clippings only. The permits will include the driver’s vehicle information and Driver’s License number. A resolution to that effect will be considered at the town council’s next meeting on Tuesday, May 26.
