The latest report from the Indiana State Department of Health indicates that 300 Hoosiers have now died as a result of COVID-19.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box stresses that deaths are reported based on when the data is received and the deaths could have occurred over the course of a few days.
An additional 568 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories. Over 35,000 tests have been reported to the Indiana State Department of Health. Out those tests, 6,907 people have tested positive for COVID-19.
The first positive case of COVID-19 reported by state officials occurred on March 6 with the first death recorded on March 16.
Starke County has eight positive cases out of 55 tests, while Marshall County now reports 12 positive cases out of 50 tests. Pulaski County still has only one positive case out of 40 tests. Fulton County has three positive cases, Kosciusko County has 17 positive cases, St. Joseph County reports 165 positive cases and two deaths, La Porte County has 31 positive tests and three reported deaths, Porter County has 95 positive cases, while Lake County has 576 positive cases and 23 deaths. Marion County reports 2,600 positive cases and 107 deaths.
