Another 568 Indiana residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories. A total of 173 Hoosiers have died as a result of COVID-19.
Deaths are reported based on when the data is received by the Indiana State Department of Health and they could have occurred over multiple days.
The number of residents in the state to have the novel coronavirus is now at 5,507.
So far, 28,764 tests have been reported to the Indiana State Department of Health.
Marshall County is now reporting 10 positive cases of COVID-19 while Starke County is reporting five, Pulaski County with one, Fulton County with three, Kosciusko County with 14, St. Joseph County with 129 and one death, La Porte County with 25 cases and three deaths, Porter County with 84 cases, Jasper County with 14 cases and one death, and Lake County with 418 cases and 11 deaths. Marion County reports the highest positive COVID-19 cases with 2,141 and 48 deaths.
There are only three counties in the state with no positive COVID-19 cases.
Most of the reported cases are in the age group of 50-59, followed by the 60-69 age group, the 40-49 age group, and the 30-39 age group.
The age group with the highest percentage of deaths is 80 and older, followed by 70-79 and the 60-69 age group.
