The number of Indiana deaths attributed to COVID-19 rose by 42 giving Thursday’s morning total of 245 Hoosiers who have died from the novel coronavirus.
An additional 430 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Indiana through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories. The total number of Indiana residents diagnosed with COVID-19 totals 6,351 out of 32,133 tests.
Marshall County is up to 11 positive COVID-19 cases out of 47 tests while Starke County is at six positive cases out of 52 tests and Pulaski County remains at one positive case out of 36 tests.
La Porte County has recorded three deaths out of the 30 people diagnosed with COVID-19. St. Joseph County has recorded one death out of the 150 people diagnosed with COVID-19 and Kosciusko County has one death in the 16 positive cases there. Elkhart County has recorded three deaths out of the 56 COVID-19 patients. Fulton County has three positive cases of the novel coronavirus.
The 50-59 age group has seen the highest number of cases, followed by the 60-69 and 40-49 age groups. Those who are 80 years of age and older maintain the highest percentage of deaths in the state.
