In its latest report, the Indiana State Department of Health recorded 61 new COVID-19 related deaths and 431 additional COVID-19 positive patients. The patients are diagnosed through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.
Officials indicated that the new cases and new tests reported Tuesday are lower than expected due to a technology issue. They say it should not be interpreted as a decline in new infections.
A total of 630 Hoosiers have died to date. The deaths reported Tuesday occurred between April 7 and April 20.
As of Tuesday, 67,264 tests have been reported to the Indiana State Department of Health.
Marshall County has 24 positive COVID-19 cases out of 303 total tests while Pulaski County has one positive case out of 101 tests. Starke County has 11 cases and one reported COVID-19 related death out of 131 tested.
