The Pulaski County Health Department reported Wednesday afternoon that the first positive case of COVID-19 appeared in Pulaski County, but health officials there later discovered it was reported to the wrong jurisdiction.
According to Pulaski County Health Nurse Andrea Keller, Pulaski County Health Department officials looked into the matter further and found that the county of residence of the patient is Starke County.
“The Pulaski County Health Department is still very much involved in the investigation, and all contacts have been notified,” she said.
An updated report on positive COVID-19 cases in the state will be provided on Thursday morning.
