Property Taxes Still Due May 11, Late Penalties Waived 60 Days

Marshall County Treasurer Angie Birchmeier urges Marshall County residents to pay property taxes by the May 11 due date by leaving payments in the drop boxes on the north and south sides of the Marshall County Building lobbies or by paying online at www.co.marshall.in.us.

The Marshall County tax bills will be mailed out on April 8.  Birchmeier noted with the COVID-19 situation changing on a daily basis, she is working with the tax software vendor and the State of Indiana to clarify procedures and deadlines.

Tax payments which have been escrowed by financial institutions will need to be paid by May 11.

Birchmeier said that while the Treasurer’s Office does not accept formal payment plans, partial payments can be mailed throughout the year.  They are currently accepting only checks, money orders or a cashier’s check.  No cash is being accepted.
