It’s the fastest-growing sport in the nation – Pickleball!
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood to hit a ball with 26 to 40 round holes over a net.
Bremen Park Superintendent Brian Main told the town council members last week that the Pickleball Club, with a membership of 75 in Bremen, requested use of the Park for a Mint City Open Pickleball event.
“They’ll have, hopefully, several hundred people playing Pickleball at the tennis courts scheduled for Saturday, June 27,” explained Main. “It’ll be an all-day affair. They want to have food trucks and a big event down there. Even if you haven’t played before, you’re welcome to play.”
Main said it’s anticipated to be the largest Pickleball event in the Northern Indiana area.
