Indiana Bars, Restaurants to Close to In-Person Patrons through End of March

Indiana’s restaurants, bars, and nightclubs are being required to close to in-person patrons through the end of March. It’s one of a number of steps to slow the spread of coronavirus announced by Governor Eric Holcomb Monday. Restaurants may continue to provide take-out and delivery services.

The governor is also urging Hoosiers to follow the CDC’s recommendation that no in-person events with more than 50 people be held. Hospitals and medical facilities are being asked to cancel or postpone elective and non-urgent surgeries to help conserve resources and personnel. State employees are being asked to maximize the use of remote work.

The Governor’s Office says 273 of the state’s public school districts are closed or switching to eLearning, while the Department of Education is working with another 16 to determine their next steps. As of Monday morning, 24 Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19.
